The mission of Laurel Greene Kaiser LLC is to inspire and strengthen youth, families and communities to overcome challenges and thrive through resilience-focused solutions.
It’s time to start talking differently about mental health. Instead of mental illness, we need to focus on mental wellness. We need to begin to describe ourselves with words that make us feel capable, powerful and hopeful, rather than helpless and hopeless. Resilience is the ability to overcome adverse events, struggles or challenges. Resiliency is universal and is the foundation for wellness. We all need it, and have the capacity to cultivate it within ourselves.

A common misconception about resilience is it's either something you have or don’t. Alternatively, resilience can be developed by anyone, at any age. Resilience-focused solutions allow for youth and families to gain the strategies, tools and the mindset to overcome challenges. This does not mean “just moving passed” difficulties or “just not thinking about it.” Running or escaping has a time limit to its effectiveness. When we validate and acknowledge our response to a difficult event, we can begin to recover. We can get to a point of not being “stuck” in the darkness, and can guide ourselves back when we feel lost. Resilience-focused solutions are about recognizing the power of supports in making us stronger, and letting go of the perception that asking for help is a sign of weakness.
What's Your Story?
Each one of us has a story. In our personal story, the road we travel is not always smoothly paved with clear signs of where to go next. Sometimes the road is so rough that we can’t imagine how to get to our destination, and sometimes the destination itself is unclear. Other times, we just need some reassurance we are headed down the right path. Our services are compassionately individualized to meet the needs of each person we serve. For each individual, the road to feeling better will look different, but it is possible for each of us to not just survive, but thrive.

Trees are symbolic to the nature of our philosophy. Growth is inevitable in our practice with the partnership of the youth, young adults and families we serve. We hope to be a breath of fresh air by providing creative and compassionate solutions. We believe that no matter how small or big a problem may seem, intentionally working together on a solution will help you get one step closer to feeling better.
